Harvey Awards

A lista de indicados ao Harvey Awards, segundo prêmio mais importante dos quadrinhos nos EUA (depois do Eisner), foi anunciada. E, assim como em 2008 e 2009, tem brasileiro indicado.

É Oclair Albert, que concorre como arte-finalista de A Noite Mais Densa (Blackest Night) da DC Comics. Vale lembrar que o também brasileiro Gabriel Bá, que em 2010 não concorre, foi um dos premiados nos últimos dois anos.

Lidera as indicações o álbum Diário de um Banana 3: A Gota d'Água (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw), já publicado no Brasil pela editora V&R, que fica no limiar entre os quadrinhos e a literatura infantil. O autor Jeff Kinney concorre em seis categorias.

Outros trabalhos bastante lembrados nas indicações este ano são a já comentadíssima Asterios Polyp, de David Mazzuchelli (cinco indicações), Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow?, de Brian Fies (quatro indicações), e George Sprott (1894-1975), de Seth (quatro indicações).

Muito do material já saiu no Brasil ou está por sair, como o já mencionado Diário de um Banana 3, o Gênesis de Robert Crumb, a saga da DC A Noite Mais Densa e a biografia Cash por Reinhard Kleist. As fases premiadas de Escalpo (Scalped) e Batman & Robin saem este ano, assim como as graphic novels Notas sobre Gaza (Footnotes in Gaza), de Joe Sacco, e Cicatrizes (Stitches), de David Small.
